Helauxy Duo MIDI!

HDM Main Front Shot

After more circuit board revisions than I can count, multiple part changes due to electrical component shortages, custom RGB LED boards, and endless sourcing of different types/sizes of power and TRS jacks, we're finally almost ready.

This post is to serve as a quick Q&A, as well as direct you over to the product page to sign up for the wait-list. These tiny MIDI switches are more labor intensive than anything I have released to date (although I have more complex products coming 😉), so they will be sold as an in-stock item rather than preorder/backorder, at least to start off. The wait-list will send out a notice whenever I restock the product, however it is first-come-first-serve once they're in-stock. If popularity spikes that I can justify larger circuit board orders/the capital associated, I'll start to open up backorder/preordering.

Enough business stuff, for the product!

Q: What is it?

A: We've been able to fit a small MIDI controller into our full-size Helauxy Duo switch body! It will require standard pedalboard 9vdc center-negative power with a standard 2.1mm power jack. MIDI output will come out a 3.5mm TRS jack wired to Type A (the MIDI standard)

Q: What about a Helauxy Duo Mini MIDI?

A: Right now it's not happening. Even in the full-size, with custom LED lights and a custom circuit board, it still barely fit.

Q: Is it a full programmable MIDI controller?

A: No. While someday I hope to fit one in an enclosure this small, it hasn't happened yet. I have ideas, but they're a bit far away. This version is a simplified controller: it comes with some preset modes specific to the HXStomp device, and you pick which mode you want it to run in at boot. That's it. Everytime it powers on, it's in that mode, and there's no accidental changes or unknowns of what it's doing. No double press, long press, etc functions. It'll just do exactly what its supposed to do. Link to the current config version below. The absolute main driver in this switch was being able to use FS4/FS5 even when you're using the Aux jack for an Expression pedal.

Q: How do I configure it?

A: There is a link on the product page, or you can click here! https://pedalnetics.com/helauxy-duo-midi-config/

Q: My question wasn't answered?
